Well, when it came to a new Thermostat Housing that was correct for a Pontiac GTO we had to make one. The garbage that was availabe in the aftermarket was just no good.

There was a nasty shard of metal left over since the sixties. I was feeling along the seat top and it decided to go thru my finger. Damn what a nasty feeling. Then I got my witts to me and cut it off at the seat.
